Discuss the different ways in which designers work with guides.
What will be an ideal response?
Some designers work with guides as a standard part of their working method. Others use them only now and then. In either case, it's a good idea to memorize the quick keys for the Guide commands and to familiarize yourself with preferences available to you for guides. Click the View menu, point to Guides, then note the quick keys for Hide, Lock, Make, and Release Guides. Click Edit (Win) or Illustrator (Mac) on the Menu bar, point to Preferences, then click Guides & Grid to open the Preferences dialog box with the Guides & Grid settings. Use this dialog box to change the color of guides or to change the style of guides, such as changing them from lines to dots.
