Explain the problems encountered by investigators in a wrongful death that is believed to be autoerotic

What will be an ideal response?

• Autoerotic death represents one of the most bizarre and complex crime scenes of all. In this type of wrongful death, a body (typically, male) is discovered in a partially suspended position, nude, or clad only in feminine attire. The actual cause of death in this type of case would probably be asphyxia, but until properly investigated, the mode of death could be diagnosed as suicide or homicide when actually it is an "accidental" death. In addition, the investigator may face problems convincing family members that the victim died accidentally (as a result of autoeroticism) rather than as a result of suicide or murder.
