When is a business gratuity not a bribe? How does a company deal with business gratuities to make sure they do not become a problem?

What will be an ideal response?

Although there is a very fine line between a business gratuity and a bribe, the
general understanding is that a business gratuity becomes a bribe when the object of value unduly influences a business decision in the favor of the giver. One problem is that even if a gift is a business gratuity and not a bribe, it can still generate an image of impropriety or corrupt business dealings, which can damage relationships with other clients or even the organization’s culture. The code of conduct should clearly explain what type of gifts, hospitality, or presents are acceptable, and in what amounts, to avoid causing this issue.
