Name two strategies or methods for helping students to develop estimation skills. Describe how these strategies/methods would contribute to conceptual understanding

Make estimation a regular class activity. The only way that students can gain familiarity with units and become better estimators is by actually using the concepts and analyzing their process by comparing their estimates to measured amounts.
