Compare and contrast two of the four listening styles and provide an example of a context in which each of these styles would be used appropriately

Please provide the best answer for the best statement.

Answer: The action-oriented listening style reflects a preference for error-free and well-organized speaking, with an emphasis on active responding. People using this style focus more on the content of the message than on the person delivering it, and they want to not only hear the message, but also to do something with it. A person at a rally might use this type of listening to get hyped about whatever the speaker is talking about. The content-oriented listening style reflects an interest in detailed and complex information, simply for the content itself. But unlike those using the action-oriented style, people using this style prefer debate or argument content over simpler speech; they attend to details and are interested in the quality of the speech. A candidate may use this type of listening at a debate to know how to best counter his or her opponent. The people-oriented listening style is often associated with friendly, open communication and an interest in establishing ties with others rather than in controlling them. People using this style are interested in hearing about others’ experiences, thoughts, and feelings and finding areas of common interest. If two people were on a date, this type of listener would want to hear about the date’s day. The time-oriented listening style prefers brief, concise speech. Time-oriented listeners don’t want to waste time on complex details; they just want the aural equivalent of bullet points. An emergency services operator may use this kind of listening to pinpoint where an incident happened.
