What is the role of cognition in forming attitudes to new technology?

What will be an ideal response?

This is the individual’s awareness, knowledge, beliefs and images that one holds about new technology. So it is the conscious, thinking part of attitude towards technology. Thus, in this example, consumers may ask themselves, is technology making life easier for people? What choices does it allow us to have? So an individual’s attitude towards a ‘video doctor’ may be composed of comparative information. Seeing a video doctor could well be quicker than seeing a GP in his/her surgery, but there’s no denying that the surgery gives better value as they are able to tangibly see the patient’s complaint before providing a prognosis. These are the facts (or beliefs) informing the attitude.
