Describe how a strong support system can foster academic resilience
What will be an ideal response?
Having a strong support system builds resilience. Most of us can deal more effectively with challenging situations when others are supporting us. Family members and friends can serve to meet emotional needs and give encouraging words. On-campus supports such as professors, advisors, librarians, tutors or counselors can be incredibly helpful as we tackle challenging academic assignments. The number of people in a support system doesn't matter as much as the quality of the support. Surrounding yourself with people who care about you and are willing to support you as you work toward your goals is an important part of success.
