Distinguish between a homosporous and a heterosporous type of life cycle.

What will be an ideal response?

In a homosporous life cycle, only one type of spore is produced by meiosis, and thus, the gametophyte produced from divisions of that spore is usually bisexual. By contrast, heterosporous plants produce two spore types: microspores and megaspores. The microspore develops into a male gametophyte and the megaspore develops into a female gametophyte.
