Before reading – Previewing the text, making predictions, establishing purpose, KWL charts, anticipation guides, Quickwrites.
During reading – Making connections, identifying main idea, taking notes, making notes, partner conversations, visualizing, graphic organizers, questioning, think aloud.
After reading – Summarizing information, oral retelling, sequencing information, visual displays, writing prompts, and writing questions.
