Discuss how service animals are trained
What will be an ideal response?
Most organizations that train guide dogs have volunteers raise the puppies for the first year, exposing them to many activities they will need to be able to handle. During training, the dogs learn to work in a harness, and they learn commands like "Forward" and "Find the door.". The dogs are trained through repetition and praise. The dog must imagine itself to be as wide and as high as a person to successfully guide the person through doorways and buildings.
