Why do most agents charge their clients a higher fee for an endorsement contract than a contract with a league or team?

What will be an ideal response?

Endorsement (sometimes called “sponsorship”) contracts are not normally negotiated by teams or leagues. This requires the agent to actively seek individuals and companies on their own and at their own expense. Most athlete-clients respect the higher fee for endorsement contracts due for two reasons: first, their sports salaries are usually high enough that they can afford to pay a higher fee based on their additional endorsement earnings, and second, most athletes recognize that only the rare athlete has companies calling him/her for endorsements.
