Describe the operation of the PCV valve as it relates to engine speed.

What will be an ideal response?

The PCV valve is moved toward the open position by the valve spring. When the engine is running, manifold vacuum pulls the PCV valve toward the closed position. If the engine is idling, the high manifold vacuum moves the PCV valve so that it is nearly closed. When the throttle opening and engine speed increase, manifold vacuum decreases. Under this condition, the PCV valve spring moves the valve toward the open position.
