List three differences between safety valves and relief valves.

What will be an ideal response?

Safety valves are intended for use in gas service whereas relief valves are used in liquid service; safety valves have a larger outlet than relief valves, because compressible gases require that a greater amount be released to reduce pressure; and safety valves open fully and quickly when set pressure is exceeded, but relief valves open more slowly and in proportion to the pressure increase.
