Shorelines experience depositional and erosional processes. List one feature formed by deposition and one feature formed by erosion, and explain how each feature is formed

Deposition:
1. beach - form by deposition of sand
2. spit - finger-like projection of beach into a body of water
3. baymouth bar - spit that has completely close off a bay
4. tombolo - spit that extends to an offshore structure like an island or sea stack
5. barrier islands - origin unresolved. They are thought to be formed either by a spit that was cut off from land or as beach ridges that subsided.

Erosion:
1. sea cliffs - produced by wave action, abrasion from sand and gravel, and dissolution of rocks by seawater
2. wave-cut platform - a beveled surface sloping seaward formed by the retreat of a sea cliff
3. marine terrace - a wave-cut platform that is above sea level
4. sea caves - form on opposite sides of a headland
4. sea arch - form when sea caves merge
6. sea stack - form when arch collapses
