What are the four major criteria of post-formal thought?
What will be an ideal response?
Adolescents are using post-formal reasoning when they are able to understand that, in real-world situations, you have to be pragmatic and use practical thought within a given situation. It is the understanding that there are many contradictions in the world and that sometimes hypothetico-deductive reasoning does not give you all of the available options in real life. It is also understood that knowledge is subjective and often depends on individual perceptions and experiences (relativistic reasoning). Lastly, it is understood that decisions increasingly depend on an individual's wisdom.
