Steel is subject to corrosion. Does it mean that all structural steel used in buildings must be protected against corrosion? Explain with reasons.

What will be an ideal response?

Structural steel within a building interior does not need corrosion protection unless the building is located in a corrosive environment or the steel component is exposed to the outside. Reason: The steel within buildings in noncorrosive environments, demolished after several decades, has been found to have not corroded.
