Describe implicit memory.

What will be an ideal response?

Implicit memory consists of things that a person does not purposely try to remember; it is both unconscious and unintentional. This type of memory is also called non-declarative memory because a person is usually not able to consciously bring it into awareness. Implicit memories are often termed procedural memories, like hitting a baseball. A person does not have to recall consciously how to perform procedural memories. Although procedural memories are not recalled specifically, a person can still perform the activity—such as riding a bicycle again, even though one has not ridden one in 20 years.
