What is assisted living, and how is it beneficial for older adults?

What will be an ideal response?

Advancing age is strongly associated with use of long-term care services, especially nursing homes. Assisted living is a homelike housing arrangement for older adults who require more care than can be provided at home but less than is usually provided in nursing homes. Assisted living is a cost-effective alternative to nursing homes that prevents unnecessary institutionalization. It also can enhance residents' autonomy, social life, community involvement, and life satisfaction.
