Using virtualization, an organization can take its existing hardware and deploy any other operating system and/or application. There are several different levels of virtualization. Describe one of these: application-level virtualization.

Application-level virtualization is a broad term that describes an approach designed to improve portability and compatibility of applications. The virtualization layer appears to the application as the expected OS, answering all necessary application programming interface (API) calls made by the application. The application perceives that it is interacting with the host OS and the resources managed by it. This approach allows an application to run on a computer that otherwise could not support the application.
