Describe how backups were done in the early days of computing.

What will be an ideal response?

In the early days of computing, a backup was done via specific backup software onto some form of magnetic tape. Tape was cheap compared to hard drive space and was easy to move from one location to another. Backups followed fairly specific rotations, so that most of the essential data was always up to date in multiple locations.
