Answer the following: a. Arthur brings his laptop computer to the Bo's Computer Shop (whose primary business is selling computers, but also does repairs) to be fixed. Two days later, a buyer comes into the shop, and Bo inadvertently sells her Arthur's

computer. Arthur now wants his computer back. What Code provision applies in this situation? Can Arthur get his computer back? Explain. ? b. Why do you think the Code follows this rule in situations such as the one above? Explain.

a.
Section 2-403 of the Code applies. Arthur has entrusted his computer to a merchant. The buyer is a buyer in the ordinary course of business who purchases the computer from a merchant. The buyer gets an interest in the computer that is superior to Arthur's. The merchant has only a voidable title, but he can transfer a good title to a buyer in the ordinary course of business when the goods have been entrusted to him. Arthur can get money damages from Bo, but he cannot get his computer back.

?

b. The Code follows this rule to encourage commerce from a merchant. Arthur also has more control over the situation, because he chose the merchant to whom he entrusted his computer. So long as the goods are not unique or have no special sentimental value, money damages will adequately compensate Arthur for his loss.
