How does the title of Two Character Play inform and comment upon the major themes that it presents?

What will be an ideal response?

The student could discuss the idea of the two characters being the fictional world
of the play versus the real world and the fact that the play seeks to further blur the lines
between the two by deliberately addressing the issues that exist in not taking away a play's
message past the doors of a theatre. The student could also talk about the idea of the two
characters being the audience and the actors and how audiences disconnect themselves
from the story at hand and miss the main message of the play as a consequence.
