A person is guilty of robbery if, in the course of committing theft, the person:
• inflicts serious bodily injury on another, or
• threatens another or purposely puts another in fear of immediate serious bodily injury, or
• commits or threatens immediately to commit any felony of the first or second degree
( defined elsewhere).
• "In the course of committing" is defined as either in the attempt to commit the theft or in flight after the commission of the crime.
• Robbery is a second degree felony. It becomes a first degree felony if, during its commission, the accused attempts to kill someone or deliberately inflicts serious bodily injury on a person.
