Explain how the existence of the World Economic Forum supports the world system theory.

What will be an ideal response?

The world systems theory emphasizes how states have characteristics that transcend state boundaries. For example, core states each have a drive to make money for the capitalist class. As a result, core states have a bond that links them together even though they compete against each other. The World Economic Forum brings together wealthy individuals, corporate leaders, industry leaders, and heads of government of selected core states to coordinate economic policies and initiatives. This forum is based on the idea that various entities, including core states, have shared interests that transcend state boundaries and can benefit each other.
