In the book, it says that “the individual differences that can be problematic in a between-subjects research design are less problematic in a repeated-measures design.” Why is this the case?
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Because participants contribute to all group means in a repeated-measures design, the individual differences between participants exist in all groups in the study. In a between-subjects design, participants are assigned to only one group, so there is a relatively bigger probability that individual differences could be affecting the dependent variable.
