Why is it so important for teachers to be knowledgeable about the physical and medical problems that individuals with intellectual disabilities may have?

What will be an ideal response?

For students with medical considerations, school team members may seek input from appropriate medical professionals concerning medications being taken, health risks for or limitations needed on physical activities, chronic conditions that school professionals should be aware of, and anticipated medical procedures that may affect school attendance or performance. These factors may be found to be integral to students' disabilities and services they may need at school. Teachers will want to know how to respond to a student's medical emergency, how to monitor devices, and how to assist a student who may miss significant amounts of time from school due to illness.
