Why might proactive patrol be an important police methodology in the future?

What will be an ideal response?

The answer to this question is twofold: (A) proactive management that wishes to maximize the use of police resources through crime analysis and planning and (B) the increased use of technology, especially crime mapping. Problem Oriented Policing (POP) using scanning, analysis response, and assessment has been more widely used. POP creates a proactive approach to patrol with this use of problem-solving and crime analysis. Computer mapping with its use of computers and global positioning automatically leads to a proactive approach to patrol.
