Describe how arteries, capillaries and veins are structurally different

Arterial walls are thicker, heavier, stronger, and stretchy enough to handle expansion and recoil as blood under high pressure is transported. Veins have thinner walls; these vessels operate under low or even negative pressure. The lumens of veins are larger than those of corresponding arteries. Veins also have valves to prevent the backflow of blood. Capillaries are composed of only the tunica intima and are only one cell layer thick.
