Explain why systems with large electric motors is the one exception to the neutral effect of automation and how this can be remedied.

What will be an ideal response?

When starting, motors momentarily draw three or four times the current that they require when running at speed. Before automating an HVAC system, or any other system that includes a large electric motor, the electrical wiring for the system should be checked to be sure it has adequate power to prevent even temporary (startup) overload conditions. If necessary, a compensating device can be installed in the motor’s circuit to reduce the startup surge of current drawn from the AC wiring so as not to adversely affect other equipment or the automation system.
