Describe how role taking is fundamental to both self-control and social control.
What will be an ideal response?
The process of role taking sets an example for us of appropriate or expected behavior, which is a function of social control. It also allows us to practice these behaviors and then to experience the positive or negative sanctions associated with following or breaking social guidelines. This process leads to better self-control.
