Define the four methods of speech delivery
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Sample student response:
Extemporaneous speaking—the method that requires a speaker to plan, rehearse, and deliver a speech from an outline containing key words, phrases, and delivery notes. It's the most acceptable contemporary method of delivery.
Manuscript speaking—the method that is used when the speaker reads word for word from a copy of the speech.
Memorized speaking—when a speaker rehearses the speech to the extent that he or she has committed it fully to memory.
Impromptu—the only speech delivery method that has very little, if any, preparation or rehearsal. If any outline is used, it is just notes jotted down quickly.
