What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Varies. The Moynihan report was developed by a former sociology professor who worked for the government. The report stated that Black mothers were to blame for the dysfunction in low-income Black families. Their class status was reflective of their lack of abilities to secure mainstream jobs, which he Moynihan stated lead to high crime in the inner city. However, Moynihan ignored structural racism and sexism as well as cultural and institutional factors that impact Black families.
