What are some of the issues in using a traditional paper trial notebook in a case in which more than one trial attorney is involved? How can using case analysis software avoid these issues?
What will be an ideal response?
A legal team may be unable to simultaneously access portions of the notebook. Unless more than one notebook is used, it is difficult for multiple members of the legal team to work collaboratively on the file. When the notebook is constantly updated, all team members may not be aware of changes. Team members also waste time looking for items that may have been removed by others. The paperless office allows every document to be stored electronically in a central repository. Each member of the legal team can have access to the items. Working in a collaborative fashion is made easier when all members can have access to the same information.
