Explain the relationship between attachment style and battering.

What will be an ideal response?

Batterers are highly likely to be insecurely attached and to exhibit an
insecure/avoidant attachment style. This presents a risk of men dominating and
controlling their wives. In contrast, men with the other insecure attachment style,
preoccupied/enmeshed, are more likely to become psychologically abusive. They won’t
let conflicts go and can become violent if the partner tries to walk away or avoid
discussing a problem.
