How to repair:
? If the dirt problem is not too severe, the finish may be able to be fine sanded and polished.
? If the dirt is severe or in the base coat, it may need to be sanded and resprayed.
? If the technician notices dirt in the sealer, the sealer can be baked or air-dried, then sanded with fine sandpaper to remove the dirt. Then reseal and paint.
RUNS
How to repair:
If run is in the topcoat
? Remove the run by sanding using a hard block, which will remove the run only. Then sand panel with ultra-fine sandpaper to remove scratches, and polish.
If run is in basecoat
? If the run is noticed before clearcoat is applied, sand out the run, then recoat with basecoat and clearcoat.
? If the run is not caught until the after clearcoat has been removed, the run defect should be sanded smooth. This may be accomplished before the clearcoat is removed, depending on the severity of the run. Then reapply basecoat and clearcoat.
If run is in undercoats
? If the run is found to be in the undercoat, it will need to be completely sanded to the undercoat, then resealed, basecoated, and clearcoated.
IF A METALLIC GATHER
Metallic gathers can be sanded until the defect is removed and recoated. The sanding should be stopped when the run's height has been removed, even though it can still be seen. If it is not detectable by touch, it can be recoated.

In an annealing process—a process wherein materials such as glass and metal are heated to high temperatures and then cooled slowly to toughen them — thin steel plates are heated to temperatures of 900oC and then cooled in an environment with temperature of 35oC. The results of an annealing process for a thin plate are shown below. Plot the data
