What is a study sample and what is a study population? Are all types of samples equal in regard to generalization?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: The study sample is the group of people from whom you collected data for your study, while the study population is the larger group of people from which you selected the study sample. Generalization means that you would expect to find somewhat similar results and draw similar conclusions from your study to another study drawn from this study population on the same basis as you did. Various types of samples are not equal in generalization. For example, random samples lead to scientific generalization and nonrandom samples do not, so random samples are superior in regard to generalization.
