Asch's study was the first to clearly show that group pressures can influence conformity by demonstrating that participants would agree with objectively incorrect judgments about line length when others in a group made such judgments.
Milgram's study showed people will obey inhumane orders simply because they are told to do so. Th is kind of unthinking obedience to immoral commands was something that psychiatrists and Milgram had not predicted. Milgram repeated variations of this experiment many times and obtained similar results. Additionally, Milgram's experiment was repeated in various parts of the world with similar results.
