How would a speech-language pathologist treat a child with a language difference?

Since speech and language differences are not disorders, it would be inappropriate for speech-language pathologists to treat these people. However, sometimes SLPs provide therapy to teach children how to move between the version of the language they use at home and the standard version of the language. The child is taught to produce equivalent sentences in both dialects.
