Discuss the three agents responsible for metamorphism. How does each agent influence the metamorphic process? What will be an ideal response?

The student should discuss heat, pressure, and chemical fluids. Heat increases the rate of
chemical reactions and may cause recrystallization of minerals. Pressure may cause tabular or
platy minerals to display parallel orientations. Chemical fluids may result in deposition of
soluble compounds in metamorphic rocks.
