As the dental auxiliary prepares for the procedure, the patient begins to complain of chest pains and loses consciousness. The dental auxiliary notifies the dentist and the receptionist and begins chest compressions. Once the dentist enters the operatory, she places a hard backboard under the patient and prepares the AED. The receptionist notifies the EMS system and retrieves the emergency kit.
