Predict the movement of water between the cytosol of a cell and hypertonic plasma

What will be an ideal response?

The plasma is hypertonic to the cytosol when its osmotic pressure is higher than that of the cytosol. This exerts a "pull" on the water molecules in the cytosol, and water moves out of the cytosol and into the interstitial fluid and then plasma. As a result, the cell shrinks.
