Summarize some of the characteristics of both the perpetrators and the victims of partner abuse that may contribute to this violence
What will be an ideal response?
Perpetrators of abuse tend to have irrational feelings of jealousy, a need to control, sudden mood swings, and short tempers. Men who are generally aggressive are more likely to abuse. Men who are high school dropouts or who are frequently unemployed abuse more than other men.
Victims of abuse are more likely to have been abused as children than non-victims. Young women between the ages of 16 and 24 are at highest risk. Younger women lacking in education or the means to support themselves outside of an abusive relationship are at high risk.
