Describe the characteristics of a Likert scale. For what purpose might it be used?

What will be an ideal response?

A Likert scale is a self-report method giving clearly favorable or unfavorable attitude statements; it asks the students to respond to each statement. Most Likert scales use a five-point system: strongly agree (SA), agree (A), undecided (U), disagree (D), and strongly disagree (SD). Likert scales are most commonly used to assess attitudes.
