In not more than three sentences, explain why a plant placed in a window grows toward the light. What will be an ideal response?

Light causes auxin to move from the sunny side of the stem to the shaded side. This accumulation of
auxin stimulates cell elongation on the shaded side. Consequently the shaded side grows more than the
sunny side, and the plant grows toward the light.
