I would let her know that I believe science is a suitable and noble career for a female. I
would suggest that she seek out other girls that are interested in and excel at math and science and
invite a couple of them over for a study night. I would encourage her to join the math club at school
that is for girls only or if there is not one, I would support her suggesting to her math teacher that one
be created. I would help her to explore careers using math and science and to talk to her teachers,
particularly the female ones, about her aspirations. I would encourage her to play video games as part
of the repertoire of activities that she does, explaining to her that it can improve her spatial perception
and math achievement.
