How did Goldenberg et al. (1999) combine experimental and quasi-experimental designs in their research, generating the conclusion that neurotic people relate sex and death?

What will be an ideal response?

Goldenberg et al. measured the degree to which people showed neuroticism, then created low and high neuroticism groups. They primed people in each group to think of sex or to think of something neutral. The highly neurotic group, when given a word completion task, completed words with missing letters to form death-related words more than the less neurotic group. Based on these results, the researchers concluded that neurotic people relate the concepts of sex and death more than others.
