What are the two primary reasons the United States is more reliant on nonrenewable energy sources than on renewable energy sources. How can this be changed?
What will be an ideal response?
Nonrenewable energy is artificially cheap because it does not include environmental costs, and renewable energy does not share the same level of tax breaks, rebates and economic incentives that are provided for nonrenewable energy. This can change by including environmental costs in energy pricing, and by increasing government subsidies, tax breaks, rebates and R&D for renewable energies while lowering those for nonrenewable energies.
