How does culture influence mating behavior?

What will be an ideal response?

Culture imposes moral norms and mores for many behaviors, including mating and sexuality. More
permissive cultures will motivate liberal behavior, although it is wrong to believe that social norms are
not broken. However, culture can be formative for mating and dating. Some of the cultural influences on
mating are as follows:
• Religion
• Importance of economic exchange in marriage
• Technological sophistication
• Climate
• Socioeconomic status
Some cultures are more permissive; others are restrictive. In permissive societies, sexuality is considered
healthy, and sexual expression is supported. Restrictive societies tend to control sexuality and restrict it
to marriage and reproduction.
