People oriented listeners prefer to focus on emotions and feelings communicated either
verbally or nonverbally by others. Action oriented listeners prefer messages to be
communicated in a well organized, brief, and error free manner, They want to get to
the point and may be more skeptical, second guessing the assumptions underlying a
message. Content oriented listeners are comfortable with complex and detailed
information and are likely to see a message without facts and evidence as being less
important. Time oriented listeners like brief, short messages.
