Name four types of graphical representations that may be used to present research information. Discuss what each of the four types named is used to display.

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Bar graphs are used to display qualitative variables like these in which the bars display the frequency of separate and distinct categories, and they use vertical bars that represent each variable in a study. A histogram presents the frequency of a variable in the form of distinct but connected bars. Since histograms are used for quantitative variables, the distribution takes on a meaningful profile because it compares each category with the rest of the data. A line connecting points in a distribution is known as a line graph. Line graphs are useful in depicting two or more categories simultaneously. If there are multiple distributions in the same category, showing them this way can be an effective choice. Pie charts are also a visual representation of the distribution of one variable, which works best with categorical variables that have a small number of categories. A researcher may have a categorical variable with many divisions that may not be well represented in a pie chart.
